Antonio DeBarros

Three months shy of turning 91, Antonio Carolina Barros, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 9, 2024. He was born on April 27, 1933, the son of Joao Carolina Barros and Zulmira Cardoso Barros, in Curral Grande, Cabo Verde.

On March 26, 1958, Totone married his beloved Sozinha Andrade Barros in Fogo, Cabo Verde. Together they created a family of 8 children, Manuel, Rosa, Maria, Joao, Antonietta, Francisco, Zulmira, and Elisangela Barros. In 1982, at 49, he immigrated to America and purchased his first home on Clarence Street. Totone was a hard-working man who poured his all into his family. He always showed up to support his friends and family during their times of need. He loved his church and was a dedicated Seventh-Day Adventist for 47 years. Totone wasn't just a father to his children, he took care of everyone who crossed his path.

He is survived by his 8 children, 28 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 2 siblings, Arnaldo Carolino and Maria Barros. Totone is predeceased by his late siblings, Ernesto Barros, Neves Barros, Luis Eduardo Barros, Manuel Saucorro Barros, Angelo Barros, Carolina Barros, Beatrice Freire De Andrade, Maria Alves, and Leonor Barbosa. He leaves behind many friends and family with joyful memories of the time spent with him. He will forever be missed for the remarkable man he was.
