Obituary

Antonio Tyrone Washington, son of the late Louise Virginia Hinson (mother) and J.B. Washington (father), was born November 25, 1963 in Tampa, Florida and departed April 6, 2026, in the comfort of his own home in Mashpee, Massachusetts.

Antonio and his brother Vincent (Tang) were raised by their grandmother Louise Wells Hinson and two aunts, Kate Brown & Emma Wells in Quincy, Florida. When he was 12 years old, they both relocated to Boston, Massachusetts where they lived with their Aunt Sarah Ann Hinson for a year before moving in with their mother and two younger brothers. He attended Charlestown High School, then went to a program called Metro Pathways at Madison Park to pursue his singing career.

Tony was a man of many talents. For over 20 years he worked in demolition and in the construction field with one of his best friend's Roger Rogers (deceased). He even gave himself a rap name called Tony-T. He was a singer, dancer, songwriter, piano player and could carve anything out of wood. He was a jokester, life of the party, and loved everything about the outdoors, especially the water. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. They often went to the arcade, bowling, and he always made sure he attended all of their precious moments.

He is survived by his four children, Lovenia Smith, Genetha Smith, Ashaki Stafford and Antonio Tyrone Washington Jr.; grandchildren La'Neyah McGhee Smith, Rhianna McGhee Smith, Elisa Leon, Edwin Vega Leon Jr., Layla Thompson-Rhodes, Brandon Thompson-Rhodes, Evan Thompson and Damere Washington.; two brothers, Vincent Thomas and Joseph Louis Smith Hinson; Edwin Vega Leon (Senior) son-in-law; His children's mother Wendy Smith; maternal Aunt Bessie Robinson and 2 best friends Jimmy Jones and Dorothy Bissett; as well as a host of other close nieces, nephew, cousins, family and friends.

Proceeded in death by Jimmie "Curt" Hinson (brother) and Dakota Washington (daughter).
