Carol Lynette Timberlake, beloved daughter of the late Samuel and Edith Walker, was born on January 25, 1950, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the eldest of eight siblings and was preceded in death by her brother Henry (Dino) and sister Antoinette (Angel).
At the age of 18, Carol gave her life to Christ and joined Twelfth Baptist Church in Roxbury, MA. In her later years, she became an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Boston, where she sang in the choir and served with devotion.
Carol was educated in the Boston Public School System and graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester. She went on to attend Boston Business School and Emmanuel College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. She also attended the Barbizon School of Modeling—always known for her style, grace, and flawless presentation.
Professionally, Carol was a dedicated employee of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), affectionately known as “Mrs. T.” She served over 25 years, retiring as Director of Customer Relations.
Carol was the devoted wife of the late Israel Jeffrey Timberlake. Together they shared a beautiful life and were blessed with two children: Lisa Maria Timberlake (Lee) and Israel Jeffrey Timberlake (Izzy).
Carol had a heart full of love for her family and friends. She cherished every occasion to gather—especially during holidays and at her well-loved summer cookouts. Her home was always open, filled with warmth, laughter, music, and joy. Whether singing, dancing, or playing the piano, Carol brought life to every celebration.
She was also an avid traveler, with her most recent trip in October to Maryland to celebrate her brother-in-law Aaron’s 75th birthday—naturally, she was the life of the party.
One of Carol’s greatest joys was her granddaughter Iyanna. Whether shopping, having lunch, or simply chatting, they shared an unbreakable bond. Carol was extremely proud of her grandson Devin, and she spoke of him often with great affection and admiration. Her greatest highlight was when he was accepted to and graduated from Harvard University.
Carol spoke often of her children with pride, saying, “I have good kids; they are so good to me.” She also lovingly expressed, “I am blessed to have a daughter-in-law like Ivette.”
Carol was a humble woman who rarely asked for help, taking pride in her independence and her beautifully kept yard. As the eldest sibling, she guided her family with wisdom, love, and a steady voice that commanded both respect and affection.
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, Carol peacefully transitioned into eternal rest.
She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory by her daughter, Lisa M. Timberlake of Boston, MA, and her son, Israel J. Timberlake of Stoughton, MA, along with his wife, Ivette. Carol also leaves behind her five devoted siblings: Mary L. Lewis of Maryland, Samuel Walker of Lynn, MA, Debra A. Crayton of Georgia, David F. Walker of Boston, MA, and Rainelle B. White of Boston, MA.
She is further mourned by her three brothers-in-law: Aaron Lewis of Maryland, Cedric White of Boston, MA, and Bryan Crayton of Georgia.
Carol’s legacy lives on through her two beloved grandchildren, Iyanna and Devin, who brought her immense joy.
In addition, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends—all of whom were touched by her warmth, kindness, and enduring love.
Carol will be remembered for her generous spirit, her strength, her style, and most of all, the deep love she gave so freely. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
