Carrie Lee Salley

Carrie Lee Salley was born on March 8, 1939 to the late John and Bernice Salley in Blackville, South Carolina. She was called home to her final resting place on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Carrie attended Macedonia School in Blackville. After her education, she made her way to Boston in 1960 and made it her home.

She worked at Sears Roebuck for several years as well as several nursing homes around Boston. After retiring, Carrie was involved in several pastime activities. She loved traveling with her family and friends. She was an active, involved member of her church, Southern Baptist Church in Roxbury. She attended DCYF Grove Hall Senior Center in Boston and the Henry Brigham Senior Center in Augusta, Georgia where she enjoyed playing board games and other activities.

Carrie leaves behind her two sons, Robert and Elvin Salley whom she loved and cherished equally; two sisters, Bettye Monteiro of Georgia and Emily Lee of South Carolina; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lille Tabb; and brothers, Leon Allen and Wilmer Salley.
