David Amos Morson

March 31, 1950 — August 17, 2025

David Amos Morson, the beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, on March 31, 1950, David was the youngest child of John and Carmen Morson.

In 1967, David migrated to the United States and settled in Boston, Massachusetts. A few years later, David began his professional career in the telecommunications industry with New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. His employment spanned several corporate mergers, totaling just under 40 years at the time of his retirement.

David was never one to miss a fête, and his love for music—especially steelpan—was matched only by his passion for sports and solving jigsaw puzzles. His calm demeanor and subtle humor made him a grounding force for those around him, and his generosity knew no bounds. Whether at work, at home, or in the vibrant Caribbean community of Boston, his calm presence, genuine heart, gentle humor, and generous spirit made him a source of comfort and inspiration for everyone.

Above all, David treasured his family. He was a devoted father to Shevonne Morson and a proud grandfather to Cierra Morson-Owens, Jamica Morson, Jasmin Curry, and David Morson, always placing their happiness and well-being at the center of his world. His love and guidance have left an indelible mark on their lives and will continue to shape future generations.

David is survived by Shevonne, his grandchildren, and Shevonne’s mother, Sherry Imoro. He also survived by his siblings, Rudolph Williams, Dennis Morson, Arnold Morson Sr., and Linda Francis; and his dear cousins, Michael Morson and Kathleen Morson Willock.

In the US, he leaves behind his nieces and nephews—Gregory, Anthony, Donna, Christina, Kato, Kelton, Michael, Arnold Jr., Daryl, and Ibn—as well as numerous extended family members in Trinidad and the UK. A host of close friends also remember him fondly, including fellow members of the steel bands Jammers and Silver Stars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carmen, and his sister, Barbara Williams.

David’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and quiet strength. He is tremendously missed, but his spirit will live on in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Children's Home in Tacarigua, or that you honor him by sharing a kind act or raising a bottle of Heineken in his memory.
