Domingo Ramon Montiero passed away on April 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 2, 1965, to Betty L. Monteiro of Columbus, Georgia, and Roger F. Monteiro, Sr. From Boston, Domingo dedicated his life to service, spending over 25 years as a proud and respected Boston Police Officer he retired June 2024.
Domingo, affectionately known as Ming or Mingo grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. Domingo graduated from Brookline High School in 1983. He then attended Newbury Culinary Arts school where he learned to create one of his signature dishes;corn casserole (Many of us did not learn this until December 2023 laughing). After this, he entered the Police academy to graduate in 1991.
Known for his impeccable fashion sense and effortless style, Domingo carried himself with a grace and confidence that lit up every room he entered. Beyond his career, he had a deep love for animals , a passion for music through becoming a (Dj Ming Master Mix) owning a driving school and Ice Cream shop, sharing his vibrant spirit and love of music with all who knew him. Domingo was the true backbone of his family, a steady and selfless presence whose devotion and strength held generations together.
He leaves behind his beloved children, Ashleigh, Sequoia, Tristian, and Austin; his siblings, Moneca (Wingrove), Dawnielle (Torrin) , Roger Jr., Brendan and Marc Roger (Tina); his dear Aunt Rosalind (Bill); his Uncle Jerry Blanton (Roberta); his cherished Fiancée, Monica Middleton; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends - all of whom he loved deeply.
Domingo's impact on his family, his community, and everyone fortunate enough to know him will never be forgotten. His memory will live on in every song he loved, every stylish outfit he wore, and in the hearts of all who called him family and friend.
