Eloise “Lois” Bennett was born on March 21, 1936 to Longino and Myrtis Parkman. She grew up in Prentiss, Mississippi where she graduated from McLennan High School. Lois moved to Boston in 1953 where she met and married Robert D Bennett in 1957. Together they had two children, Kenneth D. Bennett, Sr. and Belinda J. Bennett.
Lois was a housewife and a home health aide who loved her family and friends, especially gathering over family dinners and cookouts. Lois was an excellent cook - her specialties were sweet potato pie and collard greens and she enjoyed preparing them to share with her loved ones. Although Lois didn’t know how to swim, she loved being around the water.
Lois’ grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a fierce advocate that you always wanted on your side. She had a unique a power to make things happen and get things done.
Lois was preceded in death her parents Longino and Myrtis Parkman; her husband Robert D. Bennett, her son Kenneth D. Bennett, Sr.; her granddaughter Tashyanna Bennett-Viera; her sisters Louella Blackwell; Estella Jefferson; Lynell Evans and Ardella Starks; and her brothers Clyde and Claude Parkman.
Lois leaves many loved ones to mourn her memory including her daughter Belinda J. Bennett; grandchildren Tashia Bennett, Kenneth Bennett, Jr, Yolanda Bennett, Rapheal Bennett, Sarai Bennett and Tianna Bennett-Thomas; sisters Jewely Barnes and Carolyn Wager-Felix; her daughter-in-law Sharon Bennett; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Lois will be missed by all who loved her.
