Gosby Robinson

February 21, 1947 — January 9, 2024

Pastor Gosby Robinson Jr of White Rock Baptist Church, age 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 9, 2024.

Gosby Robinson Jr was born on February 21, 1947 in Lake Providence, LA, to Gosby Robinson Sr and Anna Bell (Grover) Robinson.

Gosby was called to ordination by Mt Sinai Baptist Church on September 17,1972.

Gosby married Antoinette Stephenson on December 18, 1981 in Jackson, North Carolina . The couple had 2 children, James Robinson and Miriam Robinson Bostick.

Gosby is affectionately known as pappa bear and best known for his wonderful interactions with people in his community. He was a great counselor. If he saw someone sad, he would take his time to talk with them and pray for them. He loved the Lord, and God was always first in his life. Gosby had a wonderful singing voice and loved to play his guitar. He loved to write lyrics and made wonderful songs. He loved reading his bible. He also had a passion for art and loved to draw and paint. He loved to work on cars and fix things around the house. He always helped with school projects like building a spaceship with his daughter and a house village with his son. He was a wonderful provider for his family and worked multiple jobs outside of the ministry. Gosby was one of twelve. He loved his parents and all his siblings. He prayed to become a grandfather and would joke with his son-in-law to make it happen. He was so happy after finding out he was a grandfather. He smiled when he got to meet his grandson. He loved his family with his whole heart.

Gosby was thankful for any gift he was given and would make sure to use it right away. He would joke that no one was going to use his things before him. He had many friends and often fellowshipped with other churches. He had great respect for all his spiritual teachers in the ministry and loved to teach others about Jesus.
