On Saturday, January 17, 2026, God, in His infinite wisdom and unfailing love, called from labor to reward our dearly beloved sister, Jacqueline Deloris (Woods) Mims.
Jacqueline was born on October 15, 1960, in Bay Minette, Baldwin County, Alabama, to the late Mr. Richard Mims Sr. and Mrs. Carrie Mae Mims. At an early age, she confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and united with Union Missionary Baptist Church of Bay Minette, Alabama, and finally joined with A Mercy & Grace Ministries (Pastor Johnnie Milligan) where she received spiritual guidance and strength that sustained her throughout her life.
Jacqueline is preceded in death by her loving parents; her brothers, Tommie L. Mims Sr., Ivory (Eva) Mims, and Sinatrous R. Mims of Bay Minette, AL.; and her sister, Dorothy (Lorenzo) Conner, of Pensacola, FL.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband, Winston Woods of Dorchester, Massachusetts; one beloved son, Ricky Mims Sr. Of Boston, Massachusetts; four step sons Jarreau Justin Woods, Whallem Wadel Woods, Wochard Wyman Woods, and Jahi Joel Woods; two grandchildren, Ricky Mims Jr. and Chanishia Mims, both of Boston, Massachusetts; three great-grandchildren, Annah’lee Marie Hampton, Jiyah Manning, and Ja’Sye Elie of Boston, Massachusetts; two brothers, Richard (Betty) Mims Jr. and Willie (Octavia) Mims, both of Bay Minette, Alabama; five sisters, Carrie (Herbert) Mims-Lee of Dorchester, Massachusetts, Brenda (Mark) Lamar, Shirley (Mac) Sanders, Constance (John) Cox, all of Bay Minette, Alabama, and Diane Gatrey of Boston, Massachusetts; one uncle, Julius Mims of Bay Minette, Alabama; two aunts, Georgia Harrington of Bay Minette, Alabama, and Stella Boulware of Springfield, Massachusetts; one God-son John (Ebony) Cox IV of Birmingham, Alabama; two special care givers Carrie (Mario) Teran, and Dorinda Wesley of Boston Massachusetts; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Jacqueline’s life stands as a testimony of faith, perseverance, and quiet strength. Her memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
