Jean Gasner Morency was born in Bassin-Bleu, Haiti on November 17, 1953 by AltaGrace Benoit and Duclos Morency. He was the youngest child with 2 older brothers Jean Davanne Morency and Joseph D. Morency. Unfortunately, AltaGrace died shortly after he was born. His wonderful grandmother, Aglaee Noel, took the boys and raised them in Port de Paix, Haiti.
Jean went to school in Port de Paix at the "Lycee Tertullien Guilbaud." When he graduated, he moved to Port au Prince to continue his education. Soon thereafter, in the 70s he moved to U.S and lived with his brother Jean Davanne in Boston. Jean Gasner Morency was a very intelligent man that liked school. He studied Computer Technology while working full time.
He had an accomplished career at Verizon for 39 years in which he got promoted to higher positions every couple of years that allowed him to have an ideal and flexible schedule.
He was a GREAT father, loving husband, provider, problem solver. Most importantly he was a man of God. He met his wife, Marie Guerla Morency in the 80s. She introduced him to Bethesda Haitian Baptist Church in which he got baptized in November 1988.
Jean was a faithful tithing member of Bethesda Haitian Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon, Treasurer, and a member of the church's committee. He took his position seriously and made sure every bill and utilities were paid on time.
Jean enjoyed spending quality time with family. His favorite game was playing gameboards with his granddaughter Brittany Pierre. He loved fixing and setting up electronics. He would teach his friends how to use the computer. One of his greatest accomplishments that he always talked about is when he build a computer.
His sacrifices made his family lives easier. His big heart always allowed him to help others. He is loved dearly by so many.
May His soul rest in eternal peace with our Savior Jesus Christ.
