Linda Garcia Wilkinson was born on June 1, 1953 – the firstborn child to Gilbert and Marlene Garcia – in the Bronx, New York. She grew up and attended school here, and by age 20 she served in the United States Army and met and married her husband of 52 years Tyrone Wilkinson.
Linda was devoted mother to their four children, Tyrone, Natasha, Michelle and Monique. A loving grandmother to her 11 grandchildren and great granddaughter. And, a caring sister to Yvonne Moore and Connie Garcia; aunt and friend to many. Linda was a fun-loving person with a great sense of humor and hearty laugh who always made those around her feel as though they were her favorite. She was certainly a favorite to many people – always ready to listen, let you vent or provide timely advice.
Linda loved travelling with her family, drawing (she was very good at it!), reading and putting her tech skills to work playing games on the internet. She was also an animal lover, especially dogs.
Linda enjoyed working at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center where she retired from before moving to Alpharetta, Georgia.
Her life in Georgia centered around her family and her dog Biggs, who was very devoted to her. She enjoyed working at her family’s business, going to church, and attending her granddaughter’s sports events. She eventually moved to Trinidad with her husband where they enjoyed the beautiful weather, sunrises, sunsets, and most of all great views of the Gulf of Paria. Linda was happy with her life and her family.
Linda leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Tyrone; son, Tyrone Gilbert Wilkinson and his wife Delmy; daughters Natasha Chalmers and her husband Timothy; Michelle Garcia and Monique Wilkinson; 11 grandchildren: Gabrielle, Shaquille, Heaven, Jordan, Brazile, Ethan, Marvin, Zhuri, Reign, Teigan and Grayson, and great granddaughter Amani.
