Martha Hercelia Austrie

Martha Hercelia Toussaint Austrie of Stoughton, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5th 2026 at the age of 69. She was born on October 1st 1956 to Huxley Toussaint and Octavia Jean in Roseau, Dominica.

After graduating from Convent High School in Dominica, she worked at Ministry of Establishment, then worked in the Post Office. She then married Mordecai Austrie of Castle Bruce, Dominica on April 28th, 1979 and together they shared 47 years of marriage.

Martha was a devout believer and follower of Christ and enjoyed singing, attending church services, watching her favorite programs on tv, online shopping, playing solitaire on her phone, spending time with family and friends and was known for her phenomenal cooking skills.

Martha is preceded in death by her father Huxley Toussaint, mother Octavia Jean and brother Clayton. She is survived by her husband, Mordecai Simon Austrie, sons Mordecai Collys and Devon Austrie, daughter Decilia Austrie, grandchildren K'daejian and Kairi Austrie, daughter in law Amenatha Austrie, sisters Vernie, Hermia, Merlyne, Claudette, Valina, brother Hudson, nieces Cynthie, Lydia, Cassandra, Loanda, Princess, nephews Brian, Seth, Corey, Hudson Jr., brother in laws Ralph, Astaphan, Leo Cardius and his wife Janice, Samuel, Jerome, and Kelbert and his wife Eustalyn, other nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and relatives in Canada, England, and Dominica, names too numerous to mention.
