Maurice Deshann Murphy

November 10, 1978 – November 5, 2023

Maurice Deshann Murphy was born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 10, 1978, to Wanda Faye and Michael L. Murphy, twin brother of Naurice, and younger brothers of Angelo Murphy. He spent his entire life Boston and from a youth Maurice loved spending time with his family. His special days of the week were Thursday and Friday when the family spent time together. He had a great respect for his older brother Angelo, and Maurice & Naurice as twins had a special bond and enjoyed each other’s company. He also loved his extended family from Egleston Square to Academy Homes.

Maurice had a smirk on his face, that would turn into a funny smile that lit up the room, he loved to dress, attributes he inherited from his mom and Dad. He was a comedian and a jokester.

Maurice attended the Boston Public School system including the Ellis Mendell Elementary, the Mary E. Curley, West Roxbury and the Jeremiah E. Burke Schools. In 2009, Maurice accomplished numerous life enriching feats. He obtained his GED through Strive of Boston, was certified in both First Aid and CPR along with obtaining an OSHA-30 license.

2010 was another memorable year in Maurice’s life when his one and only son, Mahkyi A. Murphy was born May 12, 2010. Maurice was overjoyed with becoming a father and doted over his son all the time. He was amazed at how much his son favored him and his twin, Naurice. Maurice and his son enjoyed band and instrument play sessions at home as well as watching their favorite cartoons together.

After the birth of his son, Maurice held numerous jobs including working at the Milton Public Library, George E. Lyons, Colonnade Residences, Millennium Residences and working for a cleaning service. Shortly after working for the cleaning service, he ventured out with a self-employed housekeeping venture and gained many loyal clients along the way.

On December 18, 2016, Maurice celebrated becoming a father for the second time with the birth of a baby girl, Malani A. Murphy.

Maurice met Sheena Ware and after dating for several years in 2020 they formed a union of love. He had a love for his wife that was expressed in the way he looked at her, and the numerous times they talked on the phone when they were apart.

In 2022, Maurice graduated from Ben Franklin Institute of Technology receiving a certification in HVAC and Refrigeration. Maurice enjoyed watching basketball and football, especially his favorite teams the LA Lakers and the San Francisco Forty-niners and was known for betting on the outcomes. In his spare time, he would work on his home, or go out to dinner with his wife to different restaurants or watch their favorite tv shows like “Power” and other reality shows.

The day before Maurice passed, Sheena had the opportunity to have conversation with him when she asked if he trusted, had faith and accepted God in his life, when he nodded his head acknowledging yes. Maurice also to spend time on his final day with Naurice watching college football TV.

On Sunday, November 5, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at his hospital bedside, God in His infinite wisdom transitioned Maurice Deshann Murphy to eternal peace - no more suffering, no more pain.

He is preceded in death by his parents-Wanda Faye Murphy and Michael L. Murphy.
