Selwyn Adams

April 30, 1947 — February 27, 2024

Mr. Selwyn Adams, a vibrant soul who graced this world with his presence for 76 years, embarked on his final journey on February 27, 2024. Born on April 30th, 1947, on the enchanting island of Trinidad and Tobago, Selwyn McLean Adams brought a spark of life into the world as the 8th child of Benjamin Adams and Irene Reese Adams.

From his early days at Picadilly Anglican School in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Selwyn displayed a zest for life and a thirst for knowledge that shaped his remarkable journey. At the tender age of 17, fate intertwined his path with Ms. Marilyn Callender's, igniting a love story that would span a lifetime of cherished memories. After three years of courtship, they exchanged vows on September 14, 1968, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership.

The union between Selwyn and Marilyn blossomed into a tapestry of love and joy as they welcomed their first child, Marla Lu Ann Yvette Adams, on March 5th of the following year. Their family expanded to include seven remarkable children, each a testament to their enduring bond and shared dreams.

Selwyn's life was a colorful mosaic of experiences and accomplishments. From tending to pigeons and beekeeping to navigating the bustling world of the Port Authorities and cruise ships, his journey was marked by diversity and resilience. His artistic flair found expression in his passion for painting, while his dedication shone through his work at SPS, Marion Manor, and as a BMC employee.

As Selwyn bids farewell to this world, he reunites with his beloved spouse, Marilyn Adams, and his parents, Benjamin and Irene Adams, along with his siblings Olga Wescott, Pearl Murphy, Merle Adams, Trevor Adams, and Clarence Adams. Their spirits intertwine in the tapestry of memories that define his legacy.

A public viewing to celebrate the life of Mr. Selwyn Adams will be held on Monday, 18th of March, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Concord Baptist Church of Boston. The services, honoring his journey and spirit, will commence at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Conley Hughes leading the congregation in remembrance and reflection. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery at 01:30 PM in Boston, Massachusetts.

In every brushstroke of paint, in every gentle hum of the bees, in every shared laughter with his family, Selwyn Adams' essence lives on - a testament to a life lived fully, passionately, and with an unwavering spirit that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
