Shanita Renae Williams was born on March 18, 1981, at Fort Campbell Military Base in Louisville, Kentucky. Shanita was the beloved middle child of married parents Christine (Ivey) Williams and the late Lionel Williams, who proudly served as a member of the United States Army. As a child, Shanita kept both of her parents on their toes. Full of personality, curiosity, and determination, she truly gave them a run for their money, but she also filled their lives with immeasurable love and unforgettable memories.

As a young child, Shanita's family relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, where she was raised in Dorchester.At a young age, Shanita was blessed with a Bonus Dad, Danny Robinson, whose love, guidance, and support became a lifelong source of strength. Shanita began her educational journey within the Boston Public Schools at the Donna McKay Elementary School. She continued her education at the Sarah Greenwood Middle School, where she grew into a bright, determined, and driven young lady. She later attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School, where she excelled both academically and athletically.

During her high school years, Shanita was known for her tall, model-like stature, radiant smile, vibrant personality, and unmistakable sense of style. A true fashionista, she loved putting together the perfect outfit, and family and friends often laughed about how she would "shop" in her mother's closet, borrowing shoes and accessories to complete her look. Fashion wasn't just something Shanita wore-it was an expression of who she was! Her infectious laugh could light up any room, and her warm, outgoing spirit made her a true social butterfly who formed lasting friendships easily.

Shanita was a Hip Hop and R&B enthusiast! Anyone who knew Shanita knew that Chris Brown was her favorite artist-affectionately known as her "Boo." She never missed one of his concerts, sang along to every song, and created countless joyful memories with the music that brought her so much happiness.

Her academic excellence and athletic achievements, awarded Shantia a full scholarship to Fresno State University, a testament to her hard work and promising future. However, while home on break from college, Shanita received unexpected news-she was pregnant with her first child, a boy. Faced with a life-changing decision, Shanita embraced motherhood above all else.

Shanita named her firstborn son, Christian, in honor of her beloved mother, Christine. Christian brought purpose, joy and motivation into Shanita's life and she cherished every moment of becoming a young mother. Christian was truly Shanita's twin in spirit and appearance-gentle, respectful, and soft-spoken, with a smile that could brighten any room.

Shanita embraced motherhood without ever letting go of her dreams. When America's Next Top Model auditions were held in Boston, she patiently stood in line all day for her chance to impress the judges. To her surprise, she was selected for a callback and invited to appear on the show. Before that dream could unfold, however, God had other plans and blessed her with her second son, Xavier.

Arriving at over nine pounds, Xavier made quite the entrance, and family often laughed, wondering how someone with Shanita's petite frame carried such a big baby. From an early age, Xavier shared an extraordinary bond with his mother. Rarely leaving her side, he was proudly known as her "Mama's Boy" and became one of her greatest protectors. Their relationship was filled with unconditional love, laughter, and unwavering devotion-a bond that remained strong throughout her life.

Years later, God answered Shanita's prayers and blessed her with her beautiful daughter, Zoey, the light of her life. Shanita kept Zoey close by her side, nurturing her with love, guidance, and intention, ensuring she blossomed into a respectful, young lady with poise, confidence and elegance.

Education remained one of Shanita's greatest priorities and she ensured Christian, Xavier, and Zoey attended some of Boston's best schools, supporting them through every academic milestone. Nothing filled Shanita's heart with greater pride than watching her sons graduate from High School with honors and earn college scholarships, continuing the legacy of educational excellence that she herself had established. Their accomplishments were among her proudest moments as a mother.

To Shanita, family was the cornerstone of her life. She cherished the holiday seasons and the simplicity of being around family. Shanita enjoyed home-cooked meals prepared by her older sister, Tamika, and admired the way she ensured the family celebrated together.

As the middle child, Shanita naturally took on the role of caring for her younger brother, Christopher. The two were inseparable-wherever Shanita was, Chris was never far behind. More than siblings, they were best friends.

Shanita was equally devoted to her friendships. She enjoyed spending time with her "home girls," creating memories filled with laughter, love, and sisterhood. Shanita was always there to celebrate their victories and milestones. Shanita was also a devoted partner to Carlos, who adored and admired her, and made it his mission to surround her with love, and life's simple luxuries. Carlos remained faithfully by her side, caring for and comforting her with unconditional love and affection.

Shanita faced many obstacles, but she never allowed life's challenges to define her future. Determined to continue her education, she returned to school and worked tirelessly to earn her credentials as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Driven by her compassion for others, Shanita devoted her career to serving her community. As a dedicated public servant in human services, she became a steadfast advocate for individuals and families on their journey toward hope and recovery. Through her leadership, encouragement, and unwavering commitment, she not only served her community but also empowered, and uplifted countless individuals, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those she was privileged to help.

In recognition of her commitment to public service and those in recovery, Shanita was honored by Winning Against Addiction with an award for her devotion to public service.

To know Shanita was to witness a woman whose life was rooted in unwavering faith, integrity, and an unbreakable spirit. In 2023, she was diagnosed with cancer and began a courageous journey marked by resilience and hope. Throughout her battle, Shanita faced each day with remarkable grace, and quiet strength. Her courage in the face of adversity became a powerful testament to her character and her enduring trust in God.

On July 23, 2026, Shanita peacefully answered God's call to her eternal home after a courageous battle with cancer. Her earthly journey came to an end, and with it, her pain and suffering ceased. Though her presence is deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, strength, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Shanita is preceded in death by her (late) father, Lionel Willams and cousin Kendrick Price. She is survived by her mother, Christine (Ivey) Williams, Bonus Dad, Danny Robinson Sr. Children; Christian Clark, Xavier Mabine, and Zoey Edwards. She is also survived by her sisters, Tamika Ivey, Tanita Mccoy and Toya Robinson. Brothers; Christopher Perry, Travis Williams and Danny Robinson Jr., along with a host of nieces and nephews who adored her deeply and will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Shanita's life was deeply enriched by the enduring gifts of friendship and sisterhood. In addition to her beloved family, she is survived by a cherished circle of friends whose love, loyalty, and unwavering support brought her strength, comfort, and joy. Among those friendships, she found a true kindred spirit in her lifelong best friend, Tyeshia Steed, whose steadfast love, laughter and support remained constant through every season of life. Shanita also treasured the sisterhood of the Lady Bulldogs, whose friendships, shared experiences, and countless memories on and off the court became an enduring part of her life's journey.

Shanita lived a life of immense purpose, loving without restraint and meeting every obstacle with profound courage. Her grace, laughter, and devotion to those she held dear will remain an enduring source of inspiration for everyone who was privileged to know her.
