William Woodley

William Woodley Jr. was born on September 7, 1941, in Franklin, VA to the late William McKinley Woodley, and Minnie Virginia (Holland) Woodley. He attended and graduated from Georgetown, High School in Windsor, VA. 

In 1960 he relocated to Boston, MA. At this time, he began employment at Boston Children’s Hospital where he remained for 35 plus years, until his retirement in 2007. After retirement he had many part time jobs to keep himself busy. He loved to travel, and he was always willing to give anyone a ride if they needed it. He was humble, and quiet, but would speak his mind when he felt the need. William would always call or just pop up unexpectedly. He loved to listen to old school and gospel music. But most of all he enjoyed having a good time with family and friends. 

In 1970, he met Mary Helen Deans, to this union his only son William Tyrone Deans was born. He also became a loving father to Helen’s two daughters, Gloria Deans, and the late Patricia Ann Deans. He was a loving and caring grandfather to 10 children and great-grandfather to 11 children. William was the 3^rd oldest of 5 siblings. The late Alcise Woodley, Gaylord Woodley, Linda Woodley, Larry Woodley, and Anthony Woodley. 

William Woodley leaves to cherish his memory, his only son William Tyrone Deans, of Boston, MA. Two step-daughters Gloria Deans of Boston, MA and Keysha Powell of Wilmington, MA. His siblings, Gaylord Woodley, of Florida, Linda Woodley, of New Jersey, Larry Woodley, of North Carolina, and Anthony Woodley, of Virginia. His 10 grandchildren, 11great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
